The precarious, war-driven landscape and the dreams of financial stability dissolve in the remains of the leisure culture from the past. A short film about the decommunization processes in the East of Ukraine. It reflects how the changes of monuments and regimes affect human beings in their everyday life. Until it finds the culmination of cultural and political borders in one product: the Soviet Champagne. When Rasmus was 15, his mother and siblings moved from the island Bornholm and left Rasmus with his mentally ill father. Influenced by his father's insecurity, anger and failure, Rasmus chooses to move from Bornholm at the age of 18. The escape of Nurkhan, a journalist, was forced by her covering the so-called Osh massacre in Kyrgyzstan. Now she and her three teenage daughters are seeking for asylum in Ukraine.

This documentary offers a complex portrait of Hollman Morris, the Colombian war journalist whose multiple award-winning news show Contravía is one of the few local current-affairs programs that refuses to pander to President Alvaro Uribe's staunchly authoritative government. "Almost 10 000 voters" is a documentary, presenting how does democratic process work in today's Ukraine. However the director is not focused on the works of the government or the strike on the famous Maidan, but on an average small town, where the most important decisions are made. She carefully observes locals discussing politics on the street market, kids being thought how democracy works by their teacher; and young men, dressed in uniforms, going to war, not knowing if they will return. The film is a perfect example of how small-scale story make a big impact on the audience.

Filmmakers Alfredo García and Paulina Costa were babies when both of their fathers were taken by the forces of Pinochet's dictatorship in Chile. Together their fathers were held in a small cell within Villa Grimaldi, one of the most notorious torture centres of that era. Filmed as Chile rises once more with a strong social movement against a repressive state, Meeting Point shows grandparents and parents passing down valuable lessons of freedom and equality.
