Entrance of the Red Army into Bulgaria

This 1944 frontline documentary chronicles the Red Army’s entry into Bulgaria, showing its collaboration with Bulgarian partisans and the expulsion of Nazi occupying forces. Produced as Front-line Special Issue No. 8, it features operators from multiple Soviet documentary units capturing both military advance and civilian reactions. While some sources (e.g. Barnouw) place Roman Grigoryev in a field role, the official credit is for Mariyana Fideleva as director.

In the Storm

The Lebanese film "Fi Mahab al-Reeh" (In the Wind’s Mercy), released in 1985, is a drama set during the Lebanese Civil War. It tells the story of a romantic relationship between two individuals from different social backgrounds, highlighting the deep social and political divisions affecting Lebanese society at the time.

Night Wars

Two Vietnam Veterans have realistic nightmares about the war. So real are these nightmares that they start getting injured in them, and bringing things back that they had in the dream. They then buy weapons and go in to try and get one of their friends out that originally died in a POW camp during the Vietnam war. This is made harder by a traitor from the US Military Corps.

The Tóth Family

The Tóth family resides in Northern Hungary. The couple has a daughter and a son, the latter a member of the armed forces. When his weary major is ordered to take a vacation, the son talks him into a visit to his family home. Hilarity ensues when the Tóths go overboard trying to make things pleasant for the visiting major in hopes of an easier life for their son, the soldier.

Stopy na Sitne

Slovak partisans, bravely fighting against Nazi superiority, would never have succeeded to such an extent if they had not been supported by the villagers. Despite the threat of repression, it is the villagers who care for the wounded, hide them, and behave conscientiously. Although the film was made in the late 1960s, it fully adopts the patterns of partisan stories, perhaps the only thing it can be credited with is a more developed sense of authenticity in the story, characters, and setting.

Steps in the Night

In 1943, Alex, who recently returned to the city of Kaunas, tries to join the anti-Nazi resistance, but is captured and imprisoned. He soon starts planning his escape.

As Radetzky plays the piano in a trance-like state, the story moves back in time to war-torn Warsaw. During an air-raid, Radetzky meets American journalist Carole, and there is a mutual attraction. Following the fall of Poland, Radetzky and Irish pilot, Mike, escape to Rumania and then on to America. Radetzky continues his musical career in America and meets up again with Carole.

They Were Not Divided

The film begins in a WW II training depot of a British Guards armoured regiment where recruits from many walks of life learn to survive the strict discipline and training together before going into battle in tanks. There is a cameo appearance by the real Sgt. Major Brittain who was famous in the British guards regiments.
