A Time Out of War

Black and White UCLA Student Film, Preserved by the Academy Film Archive. During the American Civil War, two Union soldiers and a Confederate solider fire at each other from across a brook. The two sides negotiate a one-hour truce, from which they develop a bond. Based on the short story "Pickets" (1897) by Robert W. Chambers, it was the winner of an Academy Award for Best Short Subject (Two Reel) film in 1955. The film is on the National Film Registry for its cultural significance in 2007.

The Woman with the Torch : Elsie Inglis's War

Elsie Inglis and the work of the Scottish Women's Hospitals (SWH) are captivating. Elsie and the other women did not conform to the stereotype of women in war. The moon survives by disguising himself as a man, while many village women have been raped by the Burmese army. Duangjan's friend is dragged to Mangratho (Suthat Intranupakorn), a right-wing commander, but is saved by Mangrai (Pairoj Sangwaributr), a left-wing commander who is the son of Mang Mahasuranat (S. Asan Chinda), the general who commanded the army this time. Mangratho fights with Mangrai and is defeated, therefore he have a great malice toward Mangrai.

Come on In

A patriotic but short American man tries without luck to qualify for the Army, but can't get in until a knock on the head raises a lump high enough for him to pass the height requirement. Meanwhile, his lady friend decides to become a Secret Service agent, though she is unable to keep the fact a secret, even from the German spies she hopes to apprehend.
