Old Heidelberg

Karl Heinrich is the heir to the throne of the small European principality of Rutania, but he's a lonely child, not allowed to play with other children and knowing little about life outside the castle. When he reaches maturity, he is sent to attend the University of Heidelberg, and finds fellowshi with classmates and a blossoming love with Katie Ruder, his only friend during childhood and the niece of an innkeeper. However, political turmoil in Rutania forces him to return. War is declared. Heinrich returns to Heidelberg one last time to bid a somber farewell to his beloved Katie.

This is about a man falling in love with a girl and then immediately gets drafted into the Army during the Vietnam War. In the war he becomes blind and gets discharged.

Anna's War

The entire family of a 6-year-old Anna dies in the mass coordinated execution of Jews. The mother covers up Anna with her own body, and the girl miraculously survives. For the next few hundred days Anna hides in the disused chimney at the Nazi Commandant's office. From her shelter she watches as life passes her by until the village is liberated from the Nazi. In these inhuman conditions Anna not only survives but keeps her humanity. Many factors help her: memories from the life swept away by war, the cultural foundations laid by the parents and a friend who saves her from loneliness.

We see his family, his chubby friend, the girl who ignores him - and the German defector who hides in the cellar. This complex initially serving it, will ultimately be the detonator of his success with women and the entire population of the city.

La stella di Andra e Tati

Little Andra and Tati Bucci, Italian Jews from Fiume, were 6 and 4 years old when, on March 29, 1944, they were deported to Auschwitz together with their mother, grandmother, aunt, and little cousin Sergio. They managed to survive the initial selections in the concentration camp because Dr. Mengele mistook them for twins and decided to take them to the Kinderblock, the barracks for children destined for eugenics experiments. The bond they formed with each other and the compassion of a female camp guard allowed the little sisters to survive until the liberation of the camp on January 27, 1945.

Colonel Kato's Falcon Squadron

A 1944 propaganda film that depicts the fictionalised career of IJAAF pilot Tateo Kato, who led the 64th Sentai during the early months of the Pacific War. The film has scenes featuring Ki-43 fighters escorting Ki-21 bombers to attack Rangoon, where they are attacked by P-40 Warhawk and Brewster Buffalo fighters.

In the film, five of them alight from the director’s piles of books as animated cut-out figures. With their own recorded words in their mouths, they participate in salons, committees, and street riots.

Journey to Tomorrow
